today, during my photo crit, we had a guest lecturer/critique helper (is that the right word?) and I was showing a self portrait and he kept referring to it as “her” and finally I said “it’s a self portrait” and he looked at the photo and back at me a few times in confusion

I don’t look anything like I do in self portraits which is amusing and also frustrating sometimes. we discussed today in class how it’s a persona, how I remove myself from myself in order to photograph it

I wish I was more like the person I photographed
